Rupi Legha is the daughter of Punjabi-Sikh immigrants and was born in Houston, Texas. She moved to Los Angeles in 2016 after living and working in Haiti and Peru for three years. After graduating from Harvard Medical School, Rupi completed nine years of postgraduate training in adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, global mental health, and health services research. She then worked in various psychiatric clinical care settings while developing innovative medical education content pertaining to racism and antiracism. In 2021, she launched her own practice with the goal of providing high-quality, heart-centered mental health care that promotes healing and joy and avoid coercion and force. Few providers possess her unique academic and clinical expertise, as well as the passion for the work she feels privileged to do. As Rupi builds her practice, she continues to teach and write, while fostering community collaborations, Her non-clincal work has always enhanced and strengthened her clinical practice.
